PICTURES ADVENTURERS PREK STEAM CLASS - RANKIN With our wonderful makerspace unable to accommodate groups of students in these covid times, our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) teachers are instead pushing or carrying STEAM supplies into classrooms. Once there, our makerspace staff members stimulate students’ creativity with simple building supplies or special tech learning toys. Ms. Darcie has be working with the very youngest students and they always like it when she appears in their spaces. When these pictures were taken, students were each given a stack of plastic cups and a cluster of paint sticks to build with. They were fully engaged during Ms. Rankin’s visit. Link to 36 Pictures. 9-16-2021 TRAVELERS 1ST GRADE READING AND WRITING - LEWIS Mr. Lewis wrote a basic paragraph on the board. He then randomly selected students to step up to the front of the classroom and identify several words they recognized and could read. Mr. Lewis circled those and kept going. Students were then tasked with writing a few sentences to the prompt… “My favorite place is… Link to 18 Pictures. 9-16-2021 EXPLORERS 2ND GRADE READING AND WRITING - HALVORSEN The 2nd graders practiced their reading and writing skills with Ms. Halvorsen Thursday morning. She added some fun to the lesson with the humorous drawings.
