PICTURES TRAVELERS 3RD GRADE FRUIT SALAD MUSIC PROJECT - CAMERON-MUSCENTE Ms. Cameron-Muscente works with the younger grades at St. Albans City School to provide a strong music foundation for Middle School music later on. On Wednesday, she had Travelers students using paper images of fruit to create sound patterns or rhythms on their desktops. Fruits such as pears, bananas and watermelon have different numbers of syllables and sounds. The students laid out their fruit pictures in ways that pleased their sense of sound and rhythms. Towards the end of class, she asked students to tap out the syllables of their fruit layout on their desks. Between individual students showcasing their music, she sang out a fruit salad song, emphasizing syllables. Soon enough she will connect this kind of work to written musical notes which will help ready students for reading music and playing complex musical instruments. The class went excellently. After we explored the math bag for a period of time the children switched and experienced and practiced a new skill with a new bag. The majority of the math bags were theme-related as well to coincide with our Apple theme. Link to 24 Pictures. OUTDOOR PICTURES Miscellaneous Outdoor photos from 9-21-2021, a beautiful breezy day. |
