It was a stunningly beautiful day to do so. USA WETLANDS WALK TO OBSERVE & RECORD PLANT AND ANIMAL LIFE - ROULEAU Mr. Rouleau walked his students through a small loop of the wetlands where here helped students observe and learn about many natural life forms. They observed frogs, talked about cattails and the invasive plant, phragmites. They saw bugs, turkey vultures, astors, goldenrod, quaking aspen, wild apple trees, buckthorn, and more. They talked about seed distribution. There was some horsing around but there was also valuable learning about the natural world. Link to Pictures. 10-8-2021. WALKING WEDNESDAY IS TOMORROW, OCTOBER 13TH This is an invitation to join this week’s Walking Wednesday. It still counts if you come by bicycle. The weather should be good and you can enjoy company while walking. We recommend that if you bike you travel independently. Even if you don’t want stickers or walking foot trinkets when you arrive at school, it would be helpful if you would check in at the front entrance. We want to know how many people walked and biked to school every Walking Wednesday. Thank you. |

YOUTH RISK BEHAVIOR SURVEY (YRBS) Grades 6-8 Dear Caregivers:
Our school is taking part in the 2021 Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). This was developed in 1991 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is sponsored by the Vermont Department of Health and Agency of Education. The YRBS gathers information about health risk behaviors of 6th through 12th-grade students. Schools, communities, and state agencies will use the results of the survey to evaluate programs, plan new programs, and secure future funding. We will administer the survey to our 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students on October 13, 2021, and October 14, 2021. If you would like to learn more about the survey or see a copy it is available to view here. If you do not want your child to participate in the survey, please complete the opt-out form and return it to Kristen Hersey in the School Counselor’s Office. Copies of the opt-out form were mailed home and are also available to download HERE. Forms must be returned by October 12, 2021. |
