PHOTOS BOOK PROJECT MUSEUM As reported in previous announcements, the Voyagers and Triumph learning communities have been working on book reports of volumeS they really enjoyed reading. They each had to outline the theme, exposition, rising actions, falling actions, resolutions, climax and more of their selected storybook. The final report went onto a poster board that was hung up in the professional library of the school. On Monday, December 20th, students from both communities visited the museum of stories located there. The students had two tasks, find a poster with a specific number, and complete a questionnaire about the book described on that poster. They finished by stating that the poster overview had either convinced them that the book was worthwhile reading or that it was not appealing. You can see pictures of the students in the museum at the following links. SNOW TUBES The snow tubes are again available for use and the straw bales have been set out to protect walkers as they drag the tube to the top of the sledding hill. To prevent overcrowding, a schedule has been created that lets learning communities sled at least twice per week (weather permitting). Classroom groups cannot mix and students must be wearing masks while on the sledding hill. This is necessary since students are often talking or screaming in close proximity to each other. The sledding tubes are well liked by all the classroom groups around the school. Link to 12 Pictures. SIDEWALK DE-ICING We can thank Mr. Pelkey for the very clean sidewalks we found on Monday morning when we arrived at school. He is often here at 4:00 in the morning trying to make the walkways safe. 12-20-2021 |
Want to submit a dance for the party? Here is how: Complete the Code.org Dance Party activity and then share your dance creation with us. Share your creations by copying the link and emailing it to makerspace@maplerun.org on or before Monday, December 20th. Students who submit a dance for the party will receive a special prize from the makerspace team. One lucky class (picked randomly through a lottery) that submits a coded dance entry will get to dance with DJ Borst, RankinBot3000, and other famous SACs characters in person! Here is an example of the kind of dances you can create: Click on this link.
Have fun coding, and we look forward to seeing you at the dance party! ---------------------------------------------------------- Are you working on the coding mystery for the 2021 month of code? Find all of the clues and things you need in one spot here: Click on this link |
