PICTURES TRAVELERS 1ST GRADE IN THE MAKERSPACE - BERTUCCI First graders learned about making small and giant stickers with the School’s vinyl cutter. Ms. Bertucci explained the process from design to printing. You would think it might be boring to sit and listen to the explanation, rather than program the printer to do its job at that moment, but it was not. Ms. Bertucci was extremely animated and inclusive in her clear overview of the necessary steps. She constantly asked students what would happen next and what they were thinking and understanding. Consequently, the students remained excited and interested throughout the whole lesson. Link to 26 pictures. INVESTIGATORS 3RD GRADE IN THE MAKERSPACE - RANKIN & BORST The makerspace staff are having 3rd graders come through the makerspace on a few early mornings each week to build and create. These pictures were taken of the Investigators at work on Wednesday morning at 8:00 AM, September 28th. Link to 11 Pictures. CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING RACE AT GEORGIA - GRUDEV The team had a great afternoon for running on the hilly Georgia cross-country course. USA 7TH GRADE - MONTGOMERY Ms. Monty continued with her instruction of 7th graders drawing using perspective to make the images more realistic. NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH - BOOKS TO CONSIDER IN THE LIBRARY Did you know it is National Hispanic Heritage Month? It is celebrated in the U.S. from September 15 to October 15 and recognizes the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements in the United States. Checkout these books in our library today!  Freddie Ramos's adventures continue! Thanks to his superpowered zapatos, Freddie is the neighborhood superhero. However his summer's off to an iffy start. Freddie's learning to swim at camp, but he hasn't even put his face in the water yet. When a bully shows up at Starwood Park, Freddie's shoes go missing. Is the bully to blame? And how can Freddie investigate without his zapatos' super speed? Ada Ríos grew up in Cateura, a small town in Paraguay built on a landfill. He wanted to give the children of Cateura something special, so he made them instruments out of materials found in the trash.
