ADVENTURERS READ ALOUD - QUINN

Ms. Quinn read “The Good Egg” to the students in Ms. Farrell’s classroom. Link to 22 Pictures. 9-29-2022

INCREDIBLES TREASURE HUNT - SPRINGFIELD

With Ms. Springfield’s guidance, the 6th graders assembled unique treasure hunt directions for small groups of 4th graders. The hope is that the two groups would get to know each other better while having fun treasure hunting. Fourth graders searched and 6th graders guarded the small bags of goodies (because there were other teams out for recess) and made sure the correct group found each bag. The bags contained colored writing implements and a few small sweet items. Link to 27 Pictures. 9-29-2022

ADVENTURERS LETTER HUNT - QUINN

Each student got to select a book to search through. The goal was to find the letters in their own name. This was a surprisingly intriguing and satisfying task for these young readers. Link to 15 Pictures. 9-29-2020

ADVENTURERS PREK & KINDERGARTEN PLAYGROUND RECESS - BOLTON & FARELL

At first in was only Ms. Farrell’s students on the big playground. Not long after their arrival along came Ms. Bolton’s students. The two classrooms had a blast running, climbing, swinging, sliding and jumping together. Link to 35 Pictures.

5th & 6th GRADE BOYS SOCCER

The recent games with Georgia and with Grand Isle were photographed by Ms. Brooks. Link to 27 Pictures.

NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH - BOOKS TO CONSIDER IN THE LIBRARY

Did you know it is National Hispanic Heritage Month? It is celebrated in the U.S. from September 15 to October 15 and recognizes the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements in the United States. Checkout these books in our library today!

Roberto is thrilled that his older brother Miguel is going to walk him home from school. But when Miguel forgets and shoots hoops with his friends instead, Roberto is mad and has to walk alone. How will Miguel make it up to Roberto?

Inspired by the works of Ezra Jack Keats and featuring Roberto, a classic character from Dreams, Louie, and Pet Show!

Merci Suárez knew that sixth grade would be different, but she had no idea just how different. For starters, as strong and thoughtful as Merci is, she has never been completely like the other kids at her private school in Florida, because she and her older brother, Roli, are scholarship students. They don’t have a big house or a fancy boat, and they have to do extra community service to make up for their free tuition. So when bossy Edna Santos sets her sights on the new boy who happens to be Merci’s school-assigned Sunshine Buddy, Merci becomes the target of Edna’s jealousy. Things aren't going well at home, either: Merci’s grandfather and most trusted ally, Lolo, has been acting strangely lately — forgetting important things, falling from his bike, and getting angry over nothing. And Merci is left to her own worries, because no one in her family will tell her what's going on. Winner of the 2019 Newbery Medal, this coming-of-age tale by New York Times best-selling author Meg Medina gets to the heart of the confusion and constant change that defines middle school — and the steadfast connection that defines family.
