PICTURES VETERANS DAY The Veteran’s Day parade and speeches orchestrated by Team USA and the Maplerun school district downtown and at Taylor Park went smoothly. It helped that the weather was relatively warm. Senator Bernie Sanders made an appearance along with a range of prominent veterans and local dignitaries. Students from the four MRUSD schools gave impressive speeches. Once again, the St. Albans Veterans Day Event maintained its’ status as one of the biggest Veterans Day celebrations in Vermont. Thanks to everyone involved in the event. 41 Pictures of the Pledge of Allegiance, Speeches, and Crowds 31 Amazing Closeup Pictures taken by Ms. Brooks 5 Pictures of Discovery students thanking veterans. BAND CONCERT 11-10-2022 After some really pandemic-constricted years, the 5th & 6th Grade and 7th & 8th Grade bands have grown hugely and so have their skills under the guidance of Mr. Kelly. It is now clearly cool to be a band member and it showed on Thursday night, 11-10-2022, when a large gathering of families and staff attended the first band concert of the year. It went extremely well, and all involved have a lot to be proud of. Some of the pictures below were kindly provided by parent and teacher, Ms. Brooks. Pictures taken before the concert, during transitions and of the audience. Link to 34 Photos. Photos taken of the musicians and band leader during concert segments. Link to 99 Pictures. NAVIGATORS (LAWYER) AT THE VOYAGERS SCHOOL STORE The Voyagers have worked hard to find appealing, affordable school items for the store with the goal of providing their students with a real-life working experience. Some photos were taken of Ms. Lawyer’s group buying supplies on 11-11-2022. Link to 5 Pictures. OPEN DOORS COMMUNITY SERVICE WITH MS. JESS & MS. OPEN DOORS - MITCHELL Last week (11-8-2022) we made lanterns. The kids used their creativity to make the just right lanterns. We even had one that was made to look like a watermelon. Someone is still holding on to Summer. This week is our last week of this session and if the weather works out we will be outside to enjoy some fun time. Link to the 8 Pictures. TWINS
