IMPORTANT MEALS INFORMATION

We will be delivering meals through June 29th, every Monday and Thursday. Monday, June 29th will be the last day of meal delivery using our buses. Meals will be available for pickup again starting July 6th and then daily through August.  We will have a map of pickup sites posted in the next few weeks.

PACKING FOOD INTO BAGS

A group of about a dozen Abbey and SACS staff members meets several times a week to form an assembly line to pack food into bags for later delivery. Rows of tables are set up to simplify the process. Milk, juice, rolls, fruit, snacks, and sealed meals are placed into grocery bags. These bags are then added to larger plastic bags that are hauled out to a refrigerator storage unit. They get loaded onto buses by a group of volunteers and distributed the next day on various bus routes.

Packaging - Wednesday, June 17th

Delivering - Thursday, June 18th

DREAMERS END-OF-YEAR CELEBRATION

Kindergarten Teacher, Ms. Dennis and her colleague, Ms. Sue Bessette, delivered end-of-the-year gifts to their cluster of students. Here is a link to the video/slideshow Ms. Dennis created:

PLAYGROUND

Signs have been placed around the St. Albans City School playground indicating that it is closed for the summer. We know this site is normally a magnet for children and families during summer days and evenings. Unfortunately, at the moment the playground cannot be sanitized frequently enough for safe and regular use.

Stephen Leach, one of the custodians, took a moment to pick up some of the rocks tossed into the playground space this last school year. He also collected rocks from the fields where they had been thrown and where they pose a danger to our lawnmowers.

STUDENT BIRTHDAYS

Families, feel free to share a picture (or provide permission for the school to find a picture) to go next to a birthdate.  mcraib@maplerun.org
